Hey there groovy peoples, and all the other groovy folks! Are we back to inflict more musical pain to your brain? Nah, we just want to share our particular brand of weird again with those of you that enjoy that kind of thing (maybe you should see someone about that). This APEisode's playlist can be found here.
This APEisode is (almost) all about the BEAN ENCHILADAZ. We bend and break lyrics from all kindz of artists. Sheryl Crow, Free, and The Clash get us started. Then we have Lee Michaels, Johnny Nash, The Proclaimers, Eddie Money, and quite a few more acts that have their lyrics tortured by the APEZ.
Finally, we move on to a couple of Starting Linez, and somewhere along the way an APEZ suffers from BRAIN LOCK! But it's ALL RIGHT NOW folks, we're gonna be just fine. Really. We promise. Maybe.
Either way, climb on up, and swing into APEisode ThirtyAPEZ of everybody's favorite lyric challenge podcast, YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS SONG!

IN A WORLD WHERE THE APEZ TALK FOR WELL OVER AN HOUR, COMES AN APEISODE THAT....maybe you don't have to listen to in 3 parts. ARE YOU READY TO RUUUUMBBUUULLL??? Weird to stop talking well before an hour, but here it is! Never fear! We still manage to fill the airwaves with plenty of our drivel. Check out the songs from this APEisode HERE on the playlist!
A little Nest Keeping gets it all going, with corrections on Dire Straights' Expresso Love, and Queen's Killer Queen and how to say Moet Et Chandon.
Then jump all in to ASK AND YE SHALL DECIEVE where Rayce wallops Reid with challenges on Donovan, White Stripes, BTO, GnR, and Derek and the Dominoes. Reid tries to fire back with Zeppelin, YES, Men At Work, and Alan Parson's. Oh and we meander....enough that it seems like over an hour. BWWAAHHAAA! Do you know the word mononymous? Well, you will after this show. You'll also know some about Sunny Goodge Street, Mississippi saxophone, Kansas Joe McCoy & Memphis Minnie, and that one time when Delaney Bramlett told Eric Clapton he should be singing. YOU GOTTA CHECK OUT THIS APEISODE, cause the next one will probably be back to an hour and ten!! 🤣🤣
It's APEisode 37 of YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS SONG!

We're here for APEisode36, and WE'RE NOT SORRY! You can grab the playlist for this APEisode HERE!
We keep trying to shorten the APEisodes, but we don't seem to be able to get there. What's an APEZ to do? We're going to start off with some PRIME CUTZ. We've got Porno for Pyros, (no, the band. Behave!), MotorHead, and even the King in this segment with lots of other artists.
We kick off TWIZT w very happy Reid ranting a bit about the LIVE version of I'm Ready by Humble Pie. Then we check out some Traffic, Montrose, the Clash, and CTA, just to name a few.
We wind on down the road, finishing up with Route 66. We follow the Who from Soho to Brighton, Meet Giants (maybe) in Istanbul, join Don Williams in Tulsa, and even drop by Anchorage, and that's just the beginning!
So come along and check us out . What else are you gonna do? Let's jump on APEisode 36.

This time we talk about a few things in the Uncontrolled Substance style, while trying to keep the length of the show a bit more controlled. See what you think. The playlist is available here. We'll introduce some new APEZ family members, and Reid of APEZ has added an easter-egg of sorts to the APEisode. See if you notice.....🤣🤣 Many years ago someone in Japan had to come up with the noise of Godzilla's roar. These are our kinda people. Try even weirder ideas until something just works! Great things have created with that approach. APEZ are still trying to find the formula in that way.
And we dig into Dolly Parton a bit, specifically over her 30 song, 2023 ROCKSTAR album, and the effort to justify her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The effort is incredible and everyone should really check it out. I mean 30 songs with everyone from Rob Halford, to Sting, to Lizzo, to Brandi Carlisle, and Chris Stpleton. There's something in there for you.
And a little about Jeff 'Skunk' Baxter's involvement with Dolly and deep involvement throughout a LOT of the music we talk about on this show. Way beyond the Doobie Brothers. You Should Know This Musician! Hey! That sounds like the name of our podcast! THE rock lyric challenge podcast, YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS SONG! Get into it with us in Apeisode 35! Come on you APEZ!

We give our recent guest Wayne of APEZ, his first correction. Then we're all about Scandal, UFOs, and Bad Motor Scooter Queens in Dire Straights, when we do our ASK AND YE SHALL DECIEVE challenge. And Pretenders mix in with Tennessee Ernie, Sweet, and Styx. What a MIX! Speaking of the MIX, find the playlist here
We play TUNE THAT NAME, and STARTING LINES also giving some love to artists like INXS, Doctor John, Nine Inch Nails, Black Crowes, Motley Crew, Sweet, Donovan, Bad Co, Bee Gees and more. Have I mentioned the MIX on this show!?!?
You won't want to miss this Apeisode and the playlist is going to be insane! So be sure to check it out right after swinging along with us through the jungle of rock and roll on YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS SONG! THE Rock n Roll lyric podcast! Thanks for checking it out! Let's go!

We're back at it, but with a little less silliness (kind of). We're still APEZ, but we all lost an icon with the passing of John Mayall. We wanted to convey the enormity of his contribution to Rock and Roll. Yes, he was largely a Blues and Jazz musician. However, the number of R&R musicians to pass through his bands is staggering. We even have a special playlist just for this APEisode here.We open with some nestkeeping, mentioning recent items of note. The retirement of Aerosmith, and what they've meant to us and to Rock music. New music from Flock of Seagulls, and Reid's definitely APEZworthy Beatles Endeavor. Then, we ask your indulgence as we attempt to honor one of the TRUE legends of music in John Mayall. No challenges, very little of the usual sarcasm and attempts at wittiness. Just a heartfelt shot at sharing the deep impact he had on the lives and careers of many, many musicians. The list is long and lustrous, as was Sir Mayall's career. So lift a glass, and come join us un toasting the Father of the British Blues, and 'great uncle' to many of Rock and Roll's biggest names. The APEZ get serious for just a minute, and you don't want to miss that. Listen to APEisode 33 now.

Another brilliant, scintillating, informative... OK, let's not kid ourselves, we missed a bunch of these REALLY EASY clues. At least we got a great playlist out of this (available here). We're not the brightest bananas in the bunch some days. But we are havin' fun and nobody hits a home run every time, although even a stopped clock...you know how it goes.We bring you Twizt & Shout, featuring songs by Queen, Aerosmith, Heart, Montrose and more. Unfortunately, we had to remind Reid that Ronnie has been gone for some time now. We follow that with some tasty Bean Enchilidaz, but still, we're missing clues here. The Outfield, The Cars, The Stones, both Tina & John are Rollin on the River with other artists. Reid recovers with a nice adlib Metallica Beanz to wrap up the segment. We finally get on our own roll with Quick Hitz including songs from Dave Edmunds, Bowie, both Mott & BadCo, and more artist to round out the APEisode. We'll do better next time, or maybe not. We aren't proud of our misses, but we do keep trying. And you can improve your own self esteem by guessing those clues we missed in APEisode 32. Let it ROLL!

YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS SONG!
Rock lyrics. Everybody knows 'em. Or do they?
We've been trading lyric challenges for over 20 years. We've had so much fun, we decided to share. We have a few different kinds of challenges, but mostly we just want to talk about the music, the bands, the shows, random factoids, and whatever else (Rock related) comes up.
We're here to share our thoughts and commentary on the music we know and love. But we also want to hear from YOU.
ARE YOU MIXEDAPEZ?
We think there are plenty of us out there.
Listen to the podcast and join us in the jungle! There's plenty of weird to go around.
