It's the YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS SONG R&B EDITION. And we're on an R&B mission. There's soooo much great ammunition. And we can barely glance at the full condition. Playlist is here, and you know it's bitchin'! But you can always go on your own expedition. And enrich your R&B cognition. On 'the dock of the (internet) bay', go fishin! And reel in some sounds that are...'enrichin'. (sorry?)
We talk about Holland-Dozier-Holland songs. The list is filled with gold and pages long. Of course we babble on and on. These are the shoulders so many artists stand upon. They deserve heaps of appreciation. And kickin-back, vibing with the volume strong. And with other other R&B classics you can't go wrong!
These artists are Hall of Fame stratosphere. Their voices and music have carried us for years. Love, loss, protest, celebration, and tears. Take a blink out of your life and fill your ears. Whether remembering, or experiencing, you're gonna hear. Captivating, almost medicinal, saturating, and clear. Attitude adjustment, elevation, and pure cheer! SO GET IN HERE! It's #47 YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS SONG!

We're spinning a new APEisode every week, and we're proud to present number 45. We've got a round of Quick Hitz to share. All the songs mentioned are available in our playlist here.
We have challenges for songs from The Police, The Eagles, Radiohead, Jeff Beck, Bob Marley & the Wailers, and a bunch more. We're moving fast and taking no prisoners.
Then, we've got a 'happy little surprise' (thanks you Bob Ross). We go through some of our old texts for clues shared OUTSIDE of the podcast, and drop them WITH NO ANSWERS. That's right, we want YOU to tell us what they are. We're hoping some of you will reach out and let us know the songs referenced in APEisode 45. We're all APEZ here, and we want y'all to get in on it! Join in the fun, and really play along on YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS SONG! APEisode 45!

WELCOME (BACK if it applies) to the pageantry, the celebration, the festival, the meandering that is YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS SONG! This time we're gonna brave the question "who is the father of heavy metal guitar?" We're not answering it, but more talking about it and passing it along to you. So get into the discussion! The playlist for this APEisode can be found HERE!
Mike of APEZ suggested to Rayce of APEZ a now and again sharing of a new album. Awww, look at them sharing. Anyway, cool idea! AND we also do a song lyric challenge show by the way....so we'll play our PRIME CUTZ game, then ASK AND YE SHALL DECEIVE, and massacre some perfectly good song lyrics with BEAN ENCHILADAZ to fill you on up.
Oh, and this is hilarious, Reid has Carrie Underwood stuck in his head. Actually, we discuss how kinda cool that is. Especially mixed in with The Police, Dick Dale, Schooley D, Chemical Brothers, Neville Brothers, The Cure, KISS, and Tower Of Power; and a bunch more for our fantastic playlist. And through it all we make a lot of goofs that we will be sure to follow up on in upcoming APEisodes. But you're welcome to follow up on them RIGHT NOW! SO GET IN HERE and get some MIXEDAPEZ on you! It's YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS SONG! APEisode 43!

Hey Kidz! Here we are again, for what seems like the 42nd time. Oddly enough, it IS the 42nd time. How can you you miss us if we won't go away? This APEisode is a no challenge zone. That's right, this one has all the calories, none of the challenges. Rayce gets going on a couple of topics, and he just won't shut up. After some much needed Nestkeeping, we discuss some OUTSTANDING numbers that just seem unbelievable. We cover a few covers. And then we find a sneaky way to get some instrumentals on the playlist available here. All this and more on APEisode 42 of THE Lyric Challenge Podcast, YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS SONG now!

With all respect to John Sebastian and "Gabe Kotter" we're saying 'Welcome Back'. We were recording outdoors 'Late in the Evening', just poddin' along, when a sudden and totally unexpected rainstorm hit us. After a little natural panic, we hustled the equipment indoors with (thankfully) no damage, and we finished up inside. We appreciate your understanding if the sound environment changed, but we managed to finish up with little impact to the APEisode. Find the playlist for this week's mayhem here. We start off with some Nestkeeping, re-iterating that Little Richard IS the King of Rock & Roll, and it seems even the big 'E' himself agreed. 'Nuff said. We jump into a FULL Episode of Prime Cutz. We begin with lyric challenges from Santana, The Cult, The Clash, and Rage. Then we had to change venues due to the sudden storm. When we regroup inside, we are able to continue with clues for songs by The Psychedelic Furs, REO, The Kinks, the Thin White Duke, and more. We survived the weather, and we'd love to have you join us for the adventure. Listen to APEisode 41 of THE Lyric Challenge Podcast, YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS SONG now!

40 APEisodes! We're getting (already were) up there, at least in APEisode age! Where does the time go...? Well, mostly it goes into editing. That, and trying to remember why we came into the room in the first place. But that's not what we're here to talk about. As always, you can find the playlist for this APEisode here. This week we start of with a little nestkeeping (we're always cleaning up after each other) and move right into that segment we started with, PRIME CUTZ. We lead off with ELO, and some banter about the actual lyrics, which still seem to be in dispute 50 years later. We've got lyrics by Peter Gabriel, King Crimson, and a left turn into a discussion about the Roches. And there's clues from the Knickerbockers, the B-52s, Van Morrison and Steve Miller. As always, we digress... leading us into conversations about Leon Russell, and even Alan Sherman. Join us as we venture into middles age (APEisode wise) and come see what all the noise is about! WILL YOU KEEP IT DOWN IN THERE! No we won't. We can't stop talking about the music we all love. So come on along for another APEisode of YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS SONG! THE rock lyric challenge podcast.
WE ARE MIXEDAPEZ
presenting
YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS SONG!
Rock lyrics. Everybody knows 'em. Or do they?
We've been trading lyric challenges for over 20 years. We've had so much fun, we decided to share. We have a few different kinds of challenges, but mostly we just want to talk about the music, the bands, the shows, random factoids, and whatever else (Rock related) comes up.
We're here to share our thoughts and commentary on the music we know and love. But we also want to hear from YOU.
ARE YOU MIXEDAPEZ?
We think there are plenty of us out there.
Listen to the podcast and join us in the jungle! There's plenty of weird to go around.
